From the United Steel Workers Education and Membership Development Department we have Guillermo Perez on the program to talk about his efforts to organize the Latino community in Pittsburgh and around the United States. One way that this is being done is be honoring Roberto Clemente who is a great leader from the Pittsburgh area. Clemente was a Puerto Rican American who was in the baseball major leagues during the period of time that baseball was first being racially unsegregated. The event that LCLAA is holding to honor him will be used to raise money for victims of the earthquakes in Mexico, the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, and many other Hispanic communities.
